Cuphead has been a great success for the developer Studio MDHR. They are celebrating the game selling more than four million copies with the announcement of a Netflix animated show.
King Features along with Netflix has announced an animated TV Show based on Cuphead. It will feature an animated style that is inspired by the classic Fleischer cartoons from the 1930s. Netflix Animation is calling it The Cuphead Show! which will “expand on the characters and world of Cuphead.” The announcement by confirmed by Studio MDHR on their official Twitter account.
For King Features, CJ Kettler will serve as the Executive Producer and creators Chad and Jared Moldenhauer will serve as Executive Producers for Studio MDHR. The series will be produced by Netflix Animation and is executive produced by Emmy and Annie Award-winning producer, Dave Wasson (Mickey Mouse Shorts)and Cosmo Segurson (Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling) serves as co-executive producer.

Cuphead has sold more than four million copies worldwide. It is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It was first released for PC and Xbox One and then later ported and released it for the Nintendo Switch earlier this year. The developers are continuing to support the game with a DLC that is set to arrive in 2020 and have released an update that adds new content for free to all owners of Cuphead.
