Death Stranding has been officially confirmed to arrive on PC in Summer 2020. After years of speculation, the PS4 version is confirmed as a timed exclusive.

Death Stranding was confirmed to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. There were rumors that it might be just a timed exclusivity contract for the PS4 version which means a potential PC version later down the line. Death Stranding will launch on PC in “Early Summer 2020” as per the official Twitter account. It will be published by 505 Games, which has backed many successful indie projects recently including Indivisible, Control, No Man’s Sky and Bloodstained.

We already had our doubts regarding the exclusive status of Death Stranding and talked about the game coming to PC as early as in May. It is now officially confirmed by Kojima Productions so at least the speculation and rumors will be finally put to rest. The only question mark is for the timing of this announcement which is just ahead of the PS4 release.

“We are extremely excited and honored to be working with the supremely talented team at Kojima Productions and to bring Death Stranding to PC gamers around the world,” said 505 Games co-founder and CEO Raffi Galante in a press release. “Death Stranding will take gamers through a completely original experience that will delight PC gamers everywhere.”

Sony has backed Kojima Productions on this project along with Guerrilla Games providing “no strings attached” support of their Decima Engine. As a result, this might be the first time Decima Engine is available on PC with a playable game once Death Stranding is out in Summer 2020.
