Microsoft and Blizzard Entertainment’s classic action role-playing game, Diablo 1, is coming to PC Game Pass, based on a new report.
Known insider and content creator extas1s has claimed that Diablo 1 will be headed to PC Game Pass in January, 2025. He mentioned that the reason he believes the game won’t arrive on Xbox Game Pass is that it doesn’t have a console version. As such, much like with Starcraft, Diablo 1 will arrive only on the PC Game Pass catalog.
Furthermore, the YouTuber revealed that UFC 5 will be making its way to Game Pass via EA Play during this month in January, in addition to the already announced Sniper Elite: Resistance.
Game Pass January 2025 List Of Games
- Sniper Elite: Resistance (Console/PC)
- Diablo (PC)
- UFC 5 – EA Play (Console/PC)
As the first installment in the series, Diablo introduced players to the dark, gothic world of Khanduras within the mortal realm when it launched on January 3, 1997. The story follows a lone hero tasked with defeating Diablo, the Lord of Terror. Players descend through sixteen procedurally generated dungeon levels beneath the town of Tristram, eventually venturing into Hell to confront Diablo. In November 1997, an expansion titled Hellfire brought new content to the game. The following year, EA brought Diablo to the PlayStation, with Climax Studios handling development. This version introduced direct character control via the PlayStation controller, moving away from the traditional point-and-click mechanics. The game did not receive an Xbox port.
Diablo features a mix of action role-playing and dungeon-crawling elements. Players navigate the environment primarily using a mouse for movement and interactions, while keyboard inputs are used for actions such as casting spells. Throughout the game, players acquire items, learn spells, battle enemies, and interact with NPCs. The procedurally generated dungeon levels feature unique themes, such as the catacombs with their narrow corridors and closed rooms, or the caves with their non-linear layouts.
