Dying Light 2 Has Gone Gold, No More Delays On Release Now

by Greg Martin

Dying Light 2 has finally gone gold which is a significant milestone during the development of the game. This also means no more delays.

Dying Light 2 developer Techland has confirmed and shared this news on their Twitter account. The game going gold means that the final code will be shipped and pressed on discs while the developers will work on any post-launch updates.

“We are very excited about this and now we can truly feel that this is actually happening! After so many years of hard work we are proudly looking forward to the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human.” said Tymon Smektała, Lead Game Designer.
He also mentioned that the work is not over yet and the gold status is not time to slow down, but to work even harder. “This is it. The final and crucial moment for us. The game is ready to be manufactured, but we will not slow down. The fact that the game is done and we hit the gold status two months before the release is a great sign but it doesn’t mean that our work ends here. There are still some upgrades and tweaks to add, and community feedback to implement, but the base is solid and ready to play. I’m extremely proud of the whole team!”

Based on the official quote of the developer, they are not quite done with the game yet, so they need to deliver on a polished game by the time it launches later in February.

Dying Light 2 is confirmed to arrive on February 4, 2022, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. It will also be playable on the Nintendo Switch but using Cloud streaming.
