FIFA 23 is now available on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and if you’re wondering which version of the football game manages to stay ahead of its competitor in terms of resolution and frame rate, read ahead.
The answer is quite straight forward, as the game runs well on both current-generation platforms to the point where they are virtually identical. FIFA 23 renders at a native 4K on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, while the Xbox Series S takes a major hit to resolution, running at 1080p instead.
In terms of graphical settings, both the PS5 and Xbox Series X are once again identical. Both versions use the same settings in terms of models, textures, lighting, and shadows. Shadows appear to be rendered at a lower resolution on the Xbox Series S, however.
Meanwhile, performance is also identical in the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S versions across all scenarios. All three consoles run the game at 60fps during gameplay and at 30fps during replays or close shots.
The install sizes can vary a bit across all three consoles, though the difference isn’t major. Both the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X versions weigh in at 42.2 GB, while the PS5 version comes in at 45.84 GB.
Ultimately, the difference comes down to your controller preference and choice of ecosystem, and there are no technical hurdles associated with either version that hold it back from being as good as the other.
