Square Enix has shared an update on Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 and revealed a new logo for the anniversary celebrations of the game.
The logo was revealed during a live stream that celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Final Fantasy VII series. There have been countless games, movies, anime, and other multimedia properties based on the Final Fantasy VII branding making it one of the most popular entries in the series for Square Enix.
They are currently working on a sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake, but it hasn’t received any update so far. Fans were hoping to get an announcement during the live stream today, but that didn’t happen either.
The series producer, Yoshinori Kitase, did state that they are looking into an announcement for the game soon, so an update might be out later this year. While Kitase didn’t dive into the specifics of the announcement, he did say that they might have more news to announce later this year.
Kitase said during the FF7 25th Anniversary stream today:
“Hmm, FF7R Part 2 news…I wonder if we can even drop news this year…” and people responded with “you can’t??”
Kitase then says with “Ah, well…I guess we’ll announce more news later this year!” #FF7R pic.twitter.com/qgEtuK6n8Q

Fans have been waiting for a long time to get their hands on the FFVII Remake. It was originally announced back in 2015 but the first part didn’t arrive until 2020. It was later ported to the PS5 and PC along with a small expansion focusing on Yuffie.
The original Final Fantasy VII is a single game but with the remake, Square Enix has greatly expanded the scope of the story and gameplay. They have released the first part of this remake in April 2020 that was followed by a native PS5 version and a new story expansion in June 2021.
