God of War Ragnarok Update 1.03 Released, Download Size & Patch Notes

Update 1.03 for Santa Monica Studio’s upcoming God of War Ragnarok has been released ahead of launch, and the download size and patch notes have been revealed.

Details regarding what the God of War Ragnarok update version 1.03 does are limited, though it primarily improves the state of the game over the previous update i.e. version 1.02. The update was rolled out very recently on October 29, 2022.

The download size of the update has also been revealed, and it weighs in at 248.4 MB on PS5. For those who pre-ordered a digital copy of God of War Ragnarok on PSN, the update should come pre-installed with the game. With update 1.03 installed, the God of War Ragnarok file size for PS5 is a little over 84 GB.

Much like update 1.02 and 1.01 before it, update 1.03 aims to address bugs and issues that continue to linger after God of War Ragnarok went gold. Other improvements may include performance gains, though that has yet to be confirmed.

Previously, it was revealed that God of War Ragnarok will take well over 50 hours for 100% completion, which was roughly the time it took to 100% its 2018 predecessor took. During a spoiler-free discussion between IGN’s Podcast Beyond crew regarding the upcoming God of War Ragnarok, it was revealed that a 100% completion run in the first playthrough can take well over 50 hours of playtime.

The crew also discussed that the game isn’t a massive technical leap over the 2018 original, though there are a lot of gameplay elements that have evolved. Players aren’t getting the same skill trees as in the original, and there are new things to do in combat, based on their impressions.

Kratos’ is officially set to embark on his latest adventure alongside his son Atreus on November 9, 2022, for the PS4 and PS5. Previously, new information regarding the resolution and frame rate in God of War Ragnarok on PS4 and PS5 were revealed. The pre-load as well as the review embargo date for the game have also been revealed.
