GTA 6 Hit By New Xbox Graphics Capture Leak

Grand Theft Auto VI has reportedly been affected by another major leak, this time involving an Xbox Graphics Capture file containing data from the game’s rendering process. The information was shared by Rockstar community figure Ben, who clarified that the leaked file is not a playable game build but still contains a substantial amount of game data.

According to Ben, an Xbox Graphics Capture file essentially contains information gathered from the console’s GPU and CPU while rendering a frame. The leaked material reportedly includes models and map-related information, with members of the community already extracting height maps and a texture used for the game’s UI minimap.

The file is currently being kept from public distribution, although portions of its contents have apparently already been examined. Another community member, Cal, explained that a complete GPU capture of a frame can contain the 3D geometry being used at that moment, along with textures, resources and other information required by the GPU to render the scene.

The source of the leak also appears to be unrelated to Xbox itself. When asked whether the incident was connected to an alleged Xbox development kit leak, Ben said the material appears to have originated from a phishing attack targeting a Rockstar employee.

“No, it has nothing to do with Xbox. This is appears to be entirely phishing related. It also appears to be completely separate from Cyberkeek, there appears to be two cyber groups,” Ben said.

The incident is therefore reportedly separate from the previous Cyberleek-related GTA 6 leaks. Those incidents involved early gameplay footage and material related to the game’s Leonida map, with Take-Two Interactive issuing copyright takedown requests against the leaked content.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S on November 19, 2026.
