Rockstar Games’ subscription service, GTA+, appears to be headed to Nintendo Switch, as per the latest information.
According to Twitter/X user TezFunz2, who is known for reporting new information regarding Rockstar Games titles, the studio has updated the platform list for “Games Included with GTA+” to include Nintendo Switch, but it is currently not stated on its official website.
This suggests that Rockstar Games will soon be updating its games on the Nintendo Switch to be playable for free with a GTA+ subscription. At the moment, the only titles from the studio that are available on the platform are L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption, GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. It’s not much of a library, and it’s therefore likely that the subscription service will be priced aggressively on the Nintendo Switch. It’s availability also suggests that more titles from Rockstar Games may be headed to the Switch or its successor.
Prominently featured on the GTA+ subscription service is Red Dead Redemption, an action adventure game and the sequel to 2004’s Red Dead Revolver. As far as modern platforms are concerned, it is available for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. It is also playable on the PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility. It is possible to run the game at 60 fps on both the PS4 Pro and the PS5.
Set in the year 1911 during the decline of the American frontier, the game follows John Marston, a former outlaw. After his wife and son are taken hostage by the government to force him to work as a hired gun, Marston sets out to capture three members of his former gang. The story delves into themes such as the cycle of violence, redemption, and the American Dream. Players explore through an open world, fictional representation of the Western United States and Northern Mexico.
