Hades Becomes The Highest-Rated Game of All Time On PS5 and Xbox Series X

by Salal Awan

Hades is a superhit for Supergiant Games. It has eclipsed the charts to become one of the highest-rated games on the PS5 and XSX.

Metacritic, which is one of the largest reviews aggregators for video games shows that Hades is now one of the highest-rated games on PS5 and Xbox Series X. In the case of PS5, it is ranked at the number one position ahead of Demon’s Souls. It has a review average of 93 compared to the 92 of Demon’s Souls.

  • Hades (93)
  • Demon’s Souls (92)
  • Borderlands 3 (91)
  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 (90)
  • Manifold Garden (89)

This is an incredible achievement for Supergiant Games, which began with Bastion and has since developed critical darlings such as Transistor and Pyre.

While Microsoft just crossed the 90 average with the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator for the Xbox Series X, the platform hasn’t done well in terms of exclusive first-party titles. Hades easily ranks among the best games on their platform, and it is available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.

This success should not be underestimated, especially on the Nintendo Switch, which has produced some of the finest games of all time, like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. Hades is rated fifth overall, with a 93 average.

The House in Fata Morgana is an interesting case study because of how the high praise from critics helped the developer to sell a record amount of copies for a niche game.
