Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is a brand new game in the series (former Yakuza) and it has received an overview trailer.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is set to be released on November 9. The game confirmed to launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC, is a spin-off based on Like a Dragon and will feature Kazuma Kiryu in the lead role. This marks his first entry in a new game since the launch of Yakuza 6.
An overview trailer is available, showcasing the legendary ex-yakuza Kazuma Kiryu, bone-crushing combat, mini-games, and other thrilling experiences in the title’s gripping story.
Players who pre-order the game will receive the Legendary Fighter Pack, which includes playable characters Goro Majima, Taiga Saejima, and Daigo Dojima in the Coliseum battle arena mode. Additionally, those who purchase the title will have access to a trial version of the upcoming eighth mainline entry in RGG’s ongoing underworld saga, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, releasing in early 2024.
The game follows Kazuma Kiryu, a legendary yakuza who fakes his death to protect his family. He is drawn into conflict under the codename “Joryu,” leading to an action-packed narrative with intense combat. Players can use two fighting styles: the aggressive Yakuza style and the Agent style, which uses speed, precision, and high-tech gadgets. They must adapt to different situations to defeat enemies. The game also offers endless entertainment options, including brawling in a secret Battle arena, singing karaoke, enjoying drinks at a cabaret club, and racing in pocket circuits. Players can explore the vibrant locations of Sotenbori and Yokohama while completing thrilling sub-missions from an intriguing character named Akame, leading up to an epic showdown.
The game is currently available for $49.99. It is also set to receive a hands-on demo during Gamescom in Cologne, Germany next week.
