Lost Judgment currently has a demo available in Asia and Japan. This can be played on a PS4 or PS5. Here is a comparison between both versions.
Lost Judgment is out on September 24, but you will be able to play the game early if you have the Digital Deluxe Edition. It will be released for the Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, and PS5. The game is a sequel to Judgment that has received a remaster on the PS5 and Xbox Series this year.
Lost Judgment appears to follow the same visual setup as Yakuza: Like a Dragon. It runs at 900p at 30 FPS on the PS4, 1080p at 30 FPS on the PS4 Pro, and 1440p at 60 FPS on the PS5. This is similar to the latest Yakuza game which is not unexpected since they are running on the same game engine.
Lost Judgment also benefits from a faster load time on the PS5. The load time is said to be 3x faster on the PS5 compared to the PS4. There are also other advantages like higher-quality shadows, reflections, and anisotropic filtering. This doesn’t really translate that much difference if we compare them side-by-side, but it is still worth mentioning here.
So what is the verdict here? If you want to play the game at 60 FPS, you should get a PS5. If you are fine with 30 FPS, there is no need to hurry and buy one. You can enjoy it with the same visual features as a PS5 but at 30 FPS.
