Major Xbox Exclusive Is Reportedly Heading To PS5, Announcement Next Week

A major Xbox first-party exclusive is heading to PS5, and the official announcement is expected to happen next week, based on the latest report.

Multiple sources have claimed that a major Xbox first-party exclusive will soon be making its way over to PS5. The first source, Reset Era member and known insider, shinobi602, has claimed that the announcement is expected to happen next week.

The second source, Twitter/X user eXtas1stv, has claimed that Microsoft and Bethesda Game Studios have no active plans to port Starfield to PS5 at this time. However, Xbox is looking to bring Forza Horizon 5 to Sony’s current-gen console in the not too distant future. Regarding the announcement, they said that it doesn’t matter if it happens this week, next week or the week after, but they are confident that the game is coming to PS5 in the next few months. They also pointed out that other sources have corroborated their information.

The Xbox Two podcast co-host Jez Corden has a different opinion from eXtas1stv, however. According to him, the Xbox first-party exclusive set to be announced for PS5 next week is not Forza Horizon 5, though he’s still in the process of investigating what game it is exactly. Though, he doesn’t rule out the game eventually being released on PlayStation hardware, saying that he could see it happening some day.

Previously, insider and content creator Nate the Hate had stated on Reset Era that he had heard about more Xbox first party titles that are planned for release on PS5, and that they may be coming during Holiday 2024 at the earliest. At the time, he did not have specifics regarding the games and their specific release windows. As for Starfield, Nate clarified to another forum member that his comment about a PS5 port not being worked on was based on information available at the time. He said that if he were to guess, a potential Starfield Complete Edition could arrive on PS5 during the late 2025 period.
