Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Announced For Switch, Releasing In Late 2022

The Pokémon Company has announced Generation 9 for the Pokémon series with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet which is out in late 2022.

They revealed the game during the recent Pokémon Presents event and confirmed that a brand new Pokémon generation is coming with the launch of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Not much is known about these new games at the moment except that they will continue the legacy of the Pokémon series by bringing a new set of starters and generation of new Pokémon.

You can take a look at the reveal trailer below. This appears to use the same engine that was seen in Pokémon Legends: Arceus which is an open-world game.

There are three starter Pokémon that was shown in the reveal trailer but they were seen in the form of an artwork. Here’s how they look in the game.

The first starter is a green cat. In the middle, we can see what appears to be a dragon-looking creature which is the second starter Pokémon. The last one looks like a duck. There is not much to go on based on these pictures but if we had to guess their type, the cat looks like a furry-grass type Pokémon, while the middle one looks like it could be a fire-dragon type Pokémon. The duck could be a water-type Pokêmon which is self-explanatory.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be out in late 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
