PS Plus Gets 50% Discount On Essential, Extra, and Premium Subscription Tiers for a Limited Time

by Salal Awan

Sony is offering a 50% discount on the purchase of a PS Plus Essential, Extra, or Premium subscription for new or returning subscribers.

If you previously had a PS Plus subscription, no matter the tier, you can claim this offer which will be only available for a limited time. It can be claimed on PS4, PS5, or directly through the PlayStation Store. This offer won’t be applicable if you are looking to extend your existing membership, but you could have taken advantage of a discount that was offered during the Black Friday sale last month.

If you want to get PS Plus Essential, Extra, or Premium, this is a pretty good price point and a nice way to jump back into the service. Extra is the best tier to get for now as it offers online multiplayer, free monthly games, and a game library to download. It is the best price-to-value tier for the PlayStation Plus subscription.

Here is the pricing of the PS Plus subscription tiers with this discount. The highest discount is on Essential with 50% off the regular price while Extra gets 30% off and Premium gets 25% shaved from the yearly price.

  • £24.99/€29.99/$29.99 Essential
  • £58.99/€69.99/$69.99 Extra
  • £74.99/€89.99/$89.99 Premium

The offer is valid until December 20, so there is barely a week to take advantage of it. Just to be clear, you can only claim it if you have a lapsed subscription and not an ongoing one.

To claim the offer, head to the PlayStation Store here. Additionally, you can find it in the Deals section on your respective console.

There are more than 100 games available to play on PS Plus Extra subscription which is cheaper thanks to a discount from $100 per year to $69.99. Additionally, you can also pay for an upgrade going from Essential to Extra and Premium.

There are many benefits to a PS Plus subscription from monthly games to bonus downloadable content while the online multiplayer is already tied to the subscription. If you have a PS4 or PS5, there is no harm in getting it with the limited-time discount.
