Some PS5 users are having unreleased adult games they’ve never played before randomly appear in their recently played games list.
Reddit user xviixvo, ResetEra member NANA, and PSN Profiles member Jjos have reported that they’ve been seeing unreleased adult games they’ve never played before randomly appear in their recently played games list on PS5, showing thousands of hours of playtime. As seen in the image below, this includes the titles Sex Store Simulator and Hentai Princess.
The Reddit user clarified that no one else has access to their PlayStation Network account and no other consoles have been linked to it. Additionally, they have 2 Factor Authentication enabled for extra security. “This is the second time this has happened- doesn’t even have a download on the playstation store or anything,” they said. “Nobody else has access to my account… no other consoles linked… have 2FA on too lol. One showed up earlier which was some random junk game on the store that disappeared from my profile.”
Meanwhile the ResetEra member noticed that Sex Store Simulator, the game randomly added to their recently played games list, had yet to be released. They also have 2 Factor Authentication enabled on their account. “I thought I got hacked, but when I searched the store, it’s yet to be released, what the hell is going on?” they stated. “Anyone here had something like this happened to them? I have 2 step verification also and got no notification of anything, I can still access my account just fine.”
The PSN Profiles member also expressed concern about their PlayStation Network account potentially getting hacked. They mentioned taking precautionary measures including changing their password and disabling the allowance within PayPal to prevent the PlayStation Store from withdrawing funds. “I assume my account got hacked…?” they said. “I already changed my password and disabled the allowance within PayPal that Sony can withdraw from there, just in case. But I’m still pretty worried…”
The source of the issue appears to be an exploit that allows third-party apps or to make changes to a PlayStation Network user’s recently played games list. We urge Sony Interactive Entertainment to look into the matter as early as possible.
