Rumor: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Remaster Could Shadow Drop at 2025 Xbox Games Showcase

A surprise announcement for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Remaster may be imminent, according to credible insider eXtas1s. The remaster is reportedly set to shadow-drop on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X during Microsoft’s 2025 Xbox Games Showcase this June.

Microsoft’s annual June event typically unveils major upcoming titles, though the format shifted to digital showcases post-COVID, replacing traditional E3 press conferences. Sony and Nintendo adopted similar strategies with State of Play and Direct streams, but Xbox’s Showcase remains a tentpole for surprise reveals.

The rumor gained traction after professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones casually mentioned his involvement in an unannounced Tony Hawk project. “I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out, that’s cool,” Jones said. “They got a new one they remastering so that’s about to come out, I was in the last one.”

Activision’s renewed focus on the franchise adds weight to the leak. Last year, during the series’ 25th anniversary, Tony Hawk reflected on the original game’s unexpected cultural impact via Instagram. “The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was released exactly 25 years ago today,” he wrote. “My intention and expectation for the game was mostly for the enjoyment of skateboarders. I had no idea it would transcend a niche market to become a massive success and – as some have argued – change the course of skateboarding’s popularity (and possibly even skate trick evolution).”

The 2020 remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was praised for revitalizing the classic gameplay while modernizing visuals. A 3+4 remaster would likely follow suit, blending nostalgic level design with updated mechanics. Shadow-dropping Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Remaster during the Xbox Showcase—a strategy where a title is announced and released immediately—could mirror surprise launches like Hi-Fi Rush, leveraging hype without prolonged marketing.

While neither Activision nor Xbox has confirmed the project, the alignment of insider claims, Jones’ remarks, and Hawk’s anniversary reflections suggest the stars are aligning for skateboarding fans. If true, June 2025’s Showcase might just deliver a grind-worthy surprise.
