EA and Hazelight Studios’ upcoming action-adventure game, Split Fiction, will take 12 to 15 hours to complete.
During an interview on the MinnMax YouTube channel, Split Fiction director Josef Fares was asked how long it takes to beat the game. In response, he said that it takes around 12 to 14 hours to complete, depending on whether the player does all the side content. This duration comes in at around the same length as that of the studio’s prior title, It Takes Two.

Furthermore, Fares mentioned that players will not want to miss the side content in Split Fiction, and he wants fans to trust him on his claim. He also guaranteed that there are things in Split Fiction that fans have never seen in a game before. As for post-launch content, he said with certainty that Hazelight Studios has no plans to release any DLC for the game.
Regarding the Friends Pass, the Split Fiction director shared that it supports crossplay, meaning that players can invite their friends from any platform for free.
On the matter of studio acquisition, Fares confidently said that Hazelight Studios is not for sale. According to him, the company will never be on the stock market, never have microtransactions, and will continue to make games. He added that while co-op will always be part of the studio’s DNA, its first game, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, was a single player focused title, hinting that the development team may pursue a single-player project in the future.
Fares also provided an update on It Takes Two’ sales, revealing that the game has sold 23 million copies to date, over half of which are from China.
Split Fiction will not be available for pre-load on PS5. As such, players will be able to downloaded the game starting from launch day on March 6, 2025.
