Elsewhere in the interview, Sakiyama was asked why he decided to revive Suikoden I & II, and whether it had anything to do with the series’ 25th anniversary. He responded by saying that the remaster wasn’t timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary, but he had always wanted to bring the Suikoden IP back to its fans. As such,he, thought it would be a good idea to revive the IP and have everyone enjoy these two titles again, which led to the project moving forward.

Sakiyama further mentioned that, since so much time has passed since Suikoden V’s release in 2006 and Suikoden: The Hundred Years of Spin’s release in 2012, there were many difficult factors taken into consideration when reviving the series. He thought it would be best to start with the first two works, but he also thought that it would be difficult to offer them in the form of emulation in this day and age. Therefore, he initiated the development of a remastered version, with the aim of delivering it in a form that the current generation of players can enjoy.

On the remaster having much quicker load times compared to the original, Sakiyama said that the loading screen hardly appears in the upcoming release. According to him, the loading screen that appears after players choose to start the game from the title screen is the lengthiest.
