Naughty Dog has updated The Last of Us Part 2 with a surprise patch today that adds support for 60 FPS and offers an enhanced resolution.
Fans have been requesting a performance patch for The Last of Us Part 2 for a long time now. Naughty Dog finally announced the update was dropping today and has shared details on it in a blog post.
According to Naughty Dog, this update will offer improved performance and enhanced resolution. It is a free upgrade for existing owners of the game so all you need to do is install The Last of Us Part 2 update 1.08, which should be available to download now.

- Added support to toggle target framerate between 30 FPS and 60 FPS on PS5 consoles.
When you update to patch 1.08 for The Last of Us Part II on your PS5, you’ll see a toggle in the Display options that lets you select between a 30 FPS or 60 FPS Framerate target. This enables you to choose your desired framerate in addition to the other benefits of PS5 backward compatibility with PS4 titles, such as improved resolution, quicker load times, and more.
The Last of Us Part 2 was released last June exclusively for the PS4. It has claimed more than 200 game of the year awards becoming one of the best games of 2020, and one of the fastest-selling games by Sony PlayStation.
