The Witcher 3 PC Update Out Today For Performance Improvements, Here Are The Patch Notes

CD Projekt Red has released a quick hotfix for The Witcher 3 on PC today. This update appears to improve the stability and performance of the game.

The next-gen update for The Witcher 3 launched to rave reviews on consoles, but it was not the case for the PC version. There were plenty of issues with the PC port including performance and stability issues leading to the game crashing more than once.

The new update to the game appears to address the performance and stability but there are no detailed patch notes shared by CD Projekt Red.

“We’ve just released a hotfix for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC which should improve overall stability and performance of the game, and fix GOG & Steam overlays. The game version won’t change, ” reads a post on the Steam forums by CDPR. “Our teams are working on further improving the experience on all platforms.”

If you had the Origin version of the game, you can now download the next-gen update. It was not available to the owners previously but this should be resolved now.

CD Projekt Red has also released a list of the known issues for the game and some fixes for the problems. If you are facing issues or bugs in the game right now, it is best to download this update and hopefully, that should resolve them.

The next-gen update for The Witcher 3 added ray tracing to current-generation consoles and PC versions. As a result, the system requirements also faced a bump but despite meeting them, some users are still struggling to get a decent performance out of the game.
