The tweet below is the one that started this speculation regarding Control coming to Xbox Game Pass, however, this is not the first time the game has been rumored for the service.

In the past, Phil Spencer apparently mistakenly mentioned games like Control coming to the Game Pass subscription service. This was back when the game had just launched thus making it big news for the service. However, this didn’t turn out to be the case.

The message seen in the tweet appears to refer to the previous speculation by fans regarding Control. In the message shared by the tweet, a sinister red light is mentioned which is obviously linked to Control. The email also mentions things like “confidential” which lines up with the theme of Control where the lead character is on a confidential mission.

While there is no major announcement revealed for the Xbox Game Pass in December, Control could be one of the games that could head to the service. November has been a great month overall for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers with EA Play also joining the service bringing a huge catalog of games from EA. They have also added Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to EA Play which is one of the best-selling games of the past 12 months so far.

Control is getting an Ultimate Edition that will support the PS5 and Xbox Series X at launch with improved visuals and performance. It is planned to arrive in early 2021.
