Treyarch has officially confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be released on PlayStation platforms in July.
In a post on X, the studio said, “It’s official: the original Black Ops and Black Ops 2 are being ported to PlayStation in July, courtesy of our partners at @IronGalaxy.”
Treyarch later confirmed that both titles will include their full suite of content, stating, “Both will include Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies.”
The announcement follows recent reports suggesting the two games were preparing for a return on modern PlayStation hardware. Earlier this week, PlayStation Game Size reported that Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II had appeared on PlayStation’s backend servers for PS4 and PS5. The account claimed the releases appeared to be straightforward ports rather than full remasters and indicated that the packages included content beyond the single-player campaigns.
Speculation surrounding the games had also increased after both titles recently received new age ratings in South Korea. Those classifications fueled expectations that Activision was preparing new releases of the popular entries, although no official confirmation had been issued at the time.
With Treyarch’s announcement, the PlayStation versions of COD: Black Ops and COD: Black Ops 2 are now officially set to launch in July through a partnership with Iron Galaxy.
