Simon mentioned that the Batcycle had several upgrade options, his favorite of which was an armored shield. According to him, the latter was inspired by folded bat wings. Given how it wrapped around the bike, it took some tinkering to allow for the steering to work.

Back in 2019, a leak had correctly revealed that Monolith Productions’ Batman title would include a Batcycle. In addition, it was mentioned that the game would feature a rundown Gotham, Two-Face, Gorilla Grodd, Flamingo, Black Mask, Penguin, Dick Grayson, Old Bruce Wayne, and the Nemesis System from Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. Later in 2021, the Batcycle was also seen in artwork from former Warner Bros Montreal artist Goran Bukvic.

As for the canceled game’s story, rumors claimed that it was set 10 years after the events of Arkham Knight. The game was intended to be a soft reboot while still being a direct sequel, so players would see the outcome of the Knightfall Protocol. It was to be a reboot in the sense that it would introduce Damien Wayne as the new protagonist. The overall theme of the canceled title was to take inspiration from Batman Beyond.  It was also claimed that the Batmobile was only featured in one of the game’s final missions, and that the primary mode of transportation in Monolith Productions’ canceled Batman title was the Batcycle.
