The pre-load for Sony Interactive Entertainment and Bend Studio’s action-adventure game, Days Gone Remastered, is now available, and the download size has been revealed.

Days Gone Remastered is now available for pre-load on PlayStation 5, and, as a result, the game’s download size has been revealed. The action-adventure game will take up a reasonable amount of storage space on the console. That said, those with limited available space on the internal storage drive are still advised to make room in advance. It goes without saying that storage expansion options are available on Microsoft’s current-gen platforms for those who need them.

Details regarding the download size and update version for Days Gone Remastered on PlayStation 5 can be seen below.

  • 35.531 GB
  • Version: 01.000.000

The pre-load for Days Gone Remastered will come with the latest update i.e. version 01.000.000, pre-installed for anyone who pre-ordered a digital copy of the game, though a day one update may be rolled out closer to release on April 25, 2025. Meanwhile, those who purchased the game on disc will likely be required to download the update. The size of the PS5 version of Days Gone Remastered (35.531 GB) is approximately 10 GB less than that of the PS4 version (46 GB). This is likely due to the improved data compression and file management on Sony Interactive Entertainment’s current-gen console.

The review embargo for Days Gone Remastered is expected to be lifted close to early access launch day. While the exact time has not been confirmed, it will likely follow typical patterns, with the embargo lifting at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 9 AM CET.

For the uninitiated, Days Gone was originally released on April 26, 2019, exclusively for the PS4. It was later ported to Windows on May 18, 2021. It takes place two years after a pandemic nearly killed all of humanity and transformed millions of others into mindless zombies known as Freakers. Players assume control of Deacon St. John, an outlaw-turned-drifter-bounty-hunter who prefers life on the road to wilderness encampments.
