Kojima Productions has submitted its upcoming action-adventure game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, to Sony Interactive Entertainment for certification, as the studio continues to work through minor bugs.

During the latest episode of the Koji Pro radio broadcast (via Genki_JPN), Death Stranding 2: On the Beach director Hideo Kojima shared that the game remains at 95% complete at the time of recording in mid-April, 2025, as a lot of minor bugs popped up. As such, it has been in the final bug-fixing stage of development.

However, Kojima mentioned that the studio has already submitted a first build of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach with initial bug checks to Sony Interactive Entertainment for certification, and he is confident that the game’s development is just about finished.

The Death Stranding 2: On the Beach director said that he wants to ensure the game is released with no bugs. However, given that it is an open-world game, the presence of some minor bugs is inevitable. That said, he clarified that these lingering bugs aren’t game breaking, and largely involve rendering errors like floating grass or some odd-looking areas.

Kojima mentioned that he has been very busy with the development of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. He hoped to have completed work on the game by the time this broadcast was released on May 5, 2025. Though, he added that the process of fixing minor bugs will continue up until launch.

As is usually the case with popular titles, early copies of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach are bound to be out on the wild prior to early access launch day on June 24, 2025 for Deluxe Edition owners. Going by the director’s statements, it would be a good idea for fans to make sure that they have the day one update installed in order to ensure a bug-free experience.

Fans can expect media preview for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach to go live tomorrow on May 8, 2025. Read about it here.
