Death Stranding has a release date and it is out this year. We have speculated in the past on a potential 2019 release date but today Sony has shared an official confirmation on when the game is coming out for PS4.
Death Stranding is a PS4 exclusive by Kojima Productions. For the last couple of weeks, Hideo Kojima was teasing a trailer for the game. It was later announced that the trailer will be released on May 29 after a series of new teasers shared by Kojima Productions. This has led to the announcement of the release date for Death Stranding which is out on November 8, 2019.
After releasing Metal Gear Solid V, Hideo Kojima left Konami to start his own company leading to the creation of Kojima Productions. He partnered with Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games to create Death Stranding, which uses Decima Engine by Guerrilla Games. They have also used it for Horizon Zero Dawn.
The release date announcement was made along with a new trailer for the game. This trailer introduces several new characters as well.
In addition to confirming the release date, the game has been up for pre-order now and there are three different editions. First is the standard edition which doesn’t come with anything and it is priced at $59.99 at both digital and retail. You do get some bonus content if you pre-order it digitally on the PlayStation Store.
Next up is the Special Edition for $69.99 and it comes with a Steelbook. It contains the following bonus items and will be available exclusively at retail.
It is followed by a Digital Deluxe Edition that also comes with the pre-order bonus Gold items and all of the Special Edition bonus content. It will be exclusively available digitally and cost $79.99.
Lastly, we have the Collector’s Editon which is priced at $199.99 but comes with a whole new set of physical bonus collectibles and includes every other digital bonus for the game.
You can pre-order any of these different editions starting today. Death Stranding will be out on November 8, 2019, exclusively for the PS4.
