Devil May Cry 5 Nintendo Switch Port Will Be Considered If Dragon’s Dogma Sells Well

by Ali Haider

Capcom has talked about the prospect of a Nintendo Switch version of Devil May Cry 5 in a new interview. They are releasing Dragon’s Dogma for the Nintendo Switch and depending on its sales, they might consider porting the game.

Devil May Cry 5 is out now for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game uses the new RE Engine which also powers Resident Evil 2 Remake. Capcom hasn’t announced any plans to port the game to the Nintendo Switch but in a new interview with a German gaming magazine, M! Games, the game director Hideaki Itsuno commented on the possibility of Devil May Cry 5 Nintendo Switch port. He explained the reason why they haven’t released the game on it.

The translation of the magazine was provided by reddit user torchibo which goes in detail about what they think about the Nintendo Switch and their plans for releasing the game on it.

“We started the development of Devil May Cry 5, while we didn’t have the Dev kits of the Switch. Because of that, we concentrated on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC version. But if Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen sells well on Switch, then we might consider porting Devil May Cry 5, ” said Hideaki Itsuno in reply to a question asking about the Nintendo Switch version.

In our review for the game, Ali Farooqi gave it 9/10 concluding that “Devil May Cry 5 is a worthy entry in one of the most beloved franchises in gaming history. While it tends to play it safe in certain areas, it more than makes up for it with its fluid, fresh, and familiar gameplay and over-the-top action.”
