Dragon Ball Event Headed To Fortnite, Featuring Goku And Vegeta Skins

by Muhammad Ali Bari

It appears that Fortnite will soon be hosting an event themed after the Dragon Ball universe, featuring characters including Goku, Vegeta, and Beerus. In addition, the game will also feature a new cosmetic glider based the manga/anime series.

Twitter user Shiina has shared news and leaks regarding Fortnite in the past, and they have now confirmed the names of 3 of the 4 upcoming Dragon Ball skins, which are Goku, Vegeta, and Beerus.

Additionally, according to the leaks, one of the forthcoming Dragon Ball x Fortnite cosmetics will be a glider codenamed “Vigor”, which resembles one of the Attack Pods from the manga/anime series.

It’s unlikely for this leaked information to be made up, as the source has previously revealed similar information regarding previous new additions to Fortnite. Given the wider variety of characters that have been showing up in previous seasons, these Dragon Ball fighters seem like a natural fit for the game.

As for whether Goku, Vegeta, and Beerus will each sport their unique abilities in battle remains unknown. Though, given how Spider-man was able to web swing his way around the level during the previous season, Epic Games may give these iconic Dragon Ball characters a similar treatment.

Epic Games’ Fortnite comes in three different game mode variants, all of which share the same basic gameplay and game engine. Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play battle royale game where up to 100 people compete to be the last one standing. Meanwhile, Fortnite: Save the World is a cooperative hybrid tower defense-shooter and survival game in which up to four players fight zombie-like creatures and defend objects with traps and fortifications they can build. Lastly, in Fortnite Creative, players have complete creative control over worlds and battle arenas.

Early access titles Save the World and Battle Royale were launched in 2017, while Creative was released on December 6, 2018. While Epic Games’ Save the World and Creative versions have been popular, Fortnite Battle Royale has become a global phenomenon, attracting more than 125 million players in less than a year and making hundreds of millions of dollars every month. Up to December 2019, Fortnite produced $9 billion in gross revenue.
