In related news, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 director Daniel Vavra had recently expressed his dissatisfaction with review aggregator Metacritic as well as negative reviews from various outlets. He also took on people who criticized him over his depiction of the game’s protagonist.
Vavra called out both GamesHub and Eurogamer over their low-scoring reviews for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, both of which are aggregated on Metacritic. He sarcastically referred to them as “trusted sources”, implying that they were on an agenda to drop the Metacritic aggregate below 90, the minimum score required for the website’s “universal acclaim” label. He blamed “journalistic standards” for the game dropping below an aggregate of 90 on Metacritic. Ultimately, he took satisfaction from player reviews on Steam, over 90% of which are positive.
