Square Enix is delaying two of their major upcoming games, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Marvel’s Avengers. Here’s when these will be out now.

Final Fantasy VII Remake was originally set to launch on March 3, 2020. It has been delayed five weeks into April. The new release date for the game is now April 10, 2020, or just six days before the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Of course, there is always the chance that CD Projekt Red also ends up delaying Cyberpunk 2077 from its current release date to another timeframe.

The development team shared the following statement regarding this delay for Final Fantasy VII Remake.

“We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience. I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer.”

This is not the only game from Square Enix that was delayed. The company announced that Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming project, Marvel’s Avengers, has been pushed further from its May 2020 release date to September. The new release date for Marvel’s Avengers is now September 4, 2020.

The developers of the game shared the following statement regarding this delay.

“When we set out to bring you our vision for Marvel’s Avengers, we committed to delivering an original story-driven campaign, engaging co-op, and compelling content for years to come. To that end, we will spend this additional development time focusing on fine tuning and polishing the game to the high standards our fans expect and deserve.”
