Final Fantasy VIII is generally less liked among the first 3D generation of Final Fantasy games due to its junction system, but it still has many fans. Square Enix is now remastering the game with better visuals and releasing in 2019.
Final Fantasy VIII Remastered was one of the announcements that were made during Square Enix’s E3 2019 media briefing. They showed other games as well like Marvel’s Avengers, Final Fantasy VII Remake, among others.
Final Fantasy VIII is getting a full remaster and it is not just a resolution upgrade. Character models seem to have taken a facelift with this new release which will launch later this year on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
The trailer shows new footage from the remastered version so if you have played the original game, it will be easy to see the new upgrades. Regardless, it still seems like a much better result than other similar efforts from Square Enix.
The upgraded visuals will not be the only thing that is a part of this new release. Fans can also toggle various cheat options like disabling combat encounters, running the game in triple speed, and keeping the HP and ATB skills at maximum. You can opt out of using these cheats altogether if you want to get the authentic experience.
