Nate was also asked about the possibility of Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth appearing on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S later this year. He responded by saying that Final Fantasy VII Remake is planned for later this year, while Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on Xbox consoles in the year 2026. He added that the timing of the announcement timing is the only unknown factor in this regard. Though, he believes that all three titles will be announced for Xbox simultaneously for maximum impact.
As far as the official word on the Final Fantasy VII Remake trillogy goes, during a recent interview with Danny Peña on YouTube, project director Naoki Hamaguchi and producer Yoshinori Kitase were asked about the possibility of Square Enix bringing the games over to Xbox. In response, Hamaguchi stated that while there isn’t anything he can say about the project appearing on Microsoft’s current-gen consoles at this time, Square Enix’s vision is to bring the trilogy to as many players as possible. He mentioned that the player base for the first two entries has been expanded via their PC releases, and he is hopeful that there may be opportunities that can be explored in order to expand it further.
