The first game in the PS Plus Essential lineup for the month of May, 2025, has potentially been leaked through the PlayStation Store.
The “Monthly Games” icon in the PS Plus section of the PlayStation Store has been updated (via Reddit) with the logo of a title that has yet to be made available through the subscription service. As seen in the screenshot below, the game in question is none other than Ballistic Moon’s remake of Until Dawn.

Sony Interactive Entertainment’s potential decision to make the Until Dawn remake available via PS Plus Essential in May, 2025, doesn’t come as a surprise. The Until Dawn movie was recently released on April 25, 2025. The console maker is known for developing synergy between its film/TV content and its corresponding games through remasters, re-releases, PC ports, and availability to a wider audience via its subscription service . If the leak is accurate, those who have seen the movie may also be interested in checking out the game, and the latter being available on PS Plus Essential during May, 2025, will make it easier for them to do so.
Another title that is likely to be available as one of the monthly PS Plus Essential games either for May or June, 2025, is Death Stranding. The sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, is on the verge of release on June 26, 2025. Given the emphasis on storytelling, it would be beneficial for more people to have access to the original sometime before the launch of the sequel. Sony Interactive Entertainment has done this in the past prior to the release of some of its first-party sequels, so if Death Stranding does indeed find its way to PS Plus Essential soon, it wouldn’t be unexpected.
As for the third game, it’s likely to be a relatively old PS4 title, which would make it difficult to guess.
