Rockstar Games’ upcoming open world action-adventure game, GTA VI, has apparently been banned in Russia, China, and several other countries.
The official PlayStation website has been updated with a new FAQ containing details regarding the free month of GTA+ for pre-ordering the digital version of the upcoming open world action-adventure game. Based on the eligibility criteria for the offer, it appears that GTA VI is banned in a number of countries, including Russia and China. Read ahead for a full list.

The list of countries where GTA VI is apparently banned can be seen below,
- Russian Federation
- China
- Bahrain
- Kuwait
- Lebanon
- Oman
- Qatar
- Taiwan
As such, those living in the above countries will not be able to get their hands on a physical or digital copy of GTA VI via authorized stores. However, they will likely be able to import physical copies via unofficial channels. Additionally, a digital copies may be obtained via PlayStation or Xbox stores belonging to account regions where the game will officially be sold.
Rockstar Games officially announced that GTA 6 pre-orders will open on June 25, 2026, giving players their first opportunity to secure a copy of one of the most anticipated games in the industry’s history. Pre-orders will go live at midnight local time across participating digital storefronts and retailers. The developer also reaffirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The standard edition will be priced at 79.99 US Dollars, while the newly announced Ultimate Edition will be available for 99.99 US Dollars. According to Rockstar Games, the Ultimate Edition includes an exclusive collection of vehicles, weapons, apparel and other content tied to the game’s protagonists, Jason and Lucia. The developer describes GTA 6 as a single-player experience set within the largest and most detailed version of the series’ world to date. The company has not shared any additional gameplay details as part of the pre-order announcement.
