Immortals of Aveum is a first-person shooter developed by Ascendant Studios and published by Electronic Arts. It was released on August 22, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. The gameplay focuses on magical combat, with players wielding around 25 different spells divided into three categories i.e. red, blue, and green, each offering offensive and defensive abilities. A talent tree with over 80 nodes allows for deep customization of abilities.
The story in Immortals of Aveum follows Jak, a thief with latent magical abilities, who is thrust into the war between Lucium and the invading kingdom of Rasharn. After successfully executing a pick-pocketing job, Jak and his partner Luna return to their hideout in the city of Seren, only to find their friend Caleb gravely injured. In their attempt to steal medicine, they are caught in a devastating attack by Sandrakk, the leader of Rasharn. Amid the chaos, Luna is killed, and Jak’s latent powers awaken, revealing him as a rare Unforeseen Triarch Magnus, one capable of wielding all three types of magic.
