A new Xbox Cloud Gaming controller has apparently been leaked ahead of an official announcement from Microsoft.
According to a report from Tecnoblog (via IdleSloth84_ on Twitter/X), Microsoft is currently developing a more compact controller aimed at players who regularly use Xbox Cloud Gaming across mobile devices, tablets, and smart TVs. Leaked images show a smaller and more portable design compared to standard Xbox controllers. The overall look resembles compact third-party controllers such as the HyperX Clutch Tanto and the SN30 Pro from 8BitDo, while still retaining the familiar Xbox button layout. The controller appears to feature the traditional analog sticks, d-pad, triggers, bumpers, and face buttons seen on modern gamepads.
First Look At New Xbox Cloud Gaming Controller
The aforementioned leaked images of the alleged new Xbox Cloud Gaming controller can be seen below.

According to the leaked documentation, the controller uses Wi-Fi 6 with 20 MHz bandwidth support, potentially allowing for lower-latency cloud gaming sessions compared to standard Bluetooth connections. The device is also said to include a Realtek RTL8730E chip featuring dual ARM Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.2 GHz.
The controller reportedly includes a built-in rechargeable 500 mAh battery and charges through USB-C. Images also reveal an unidentified top-mounted button that could be used for pairing or switching between local Xbox mode and cloud gaming mode. There also appears to be a dedicated indicator light area designed to differentiate between standard Xbox connectivity and cloud streaming functionality.
Leaked images indicate that Microsoft plans to release the controller in at least two colors, including black and white variants. However, there is currently no official release window, pricing information, or FCC certification listing available.

The report also mentions a possible successor to the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. The rumored Elite Series 3 controller allegedly includes the same Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth support, along with interchangeable paddles, triggers, and D-pad components. Leaked images show two additional wheel-like controls positioned near the grips.
