The next PlayStation title that is set for release on PC is Naughty Dog’s action adventure game, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, based on the latest rumor.
Twitter/X insider Silknigth, who is known for leaking the arrival of Ghost of Tsushima on PC as well as the contents of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s recent State of Play presentation, has now shared that the next PlayStation exclusive to arrive on PC is none other than the remastered version of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2.
The insider claims that the announcement for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is expected to happen sometime next month in April, 2024, though they are unaware of the exact date. They also added that there will be a longer than usual period between the announcement and the release dates.
With production of the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us TV series already underway, it would make sense for Sony Interactive Entertainment to have the game it is based on available to a wider audience. Season 2 of The Last of Us TV series is based on the conflict between Ellie and Abby, a depicted in The Last of Us Part 2.
The insider didn’t mention anything regarding the potential improvements that the PC version may have over the PS5 game, though it’s safe to assume that PC features will be along the lines of those seen in the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1. The latter was marred with technical issues at launch, and one would hope the porting team has learned from it for the sequel’s debut on PC. The Last of Us Part 2 originally being a PS4 title should also ensure scalability across a range of PC specs.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered is currently available exclusively for PS5.
