Leaked Nintendo Switch Dev Builds
The games that have had their development builds leaked are mentioned below.
- Splatoon 2
- ARMS
- Rime
- Unreleased Lego Civilization game
- Unreleased Ridge Racer prototype
- Unreleased Retro Studios game codenamed Project Harmony
It has also been reported that some of the aforementioned development builds can run on PC emulators. The above screenshots of Project Harmony were obtained in this manner. However, the game requires patches in order to function properly. A total of 3 development builds of Project Harmony were obtained via this leak. As per the source, one of them weighs in at 9 GB. It is expected that a modder may be able to go through the game files and come up with a patch to make the game functional.
Earlier this year in January, Kiwi Talkz, a member of gaming enthusiast forum Reset Era, had claimed to have spoken to a few Retro Studios developers on the relationship between the studio and Nintendo. Based on what they heard, Nintendo’s producers are extremely picky about things involving design and whether the game is ultimately fun to play. Should this not be the case, the company will scrap the project, even if art assets have already been made.
They Reset Era member was told that Retro Studios had been working on a music role-playing game, where the main mechanic involved singing. It turned out to be a huge disaster for the developer. After years of it going nowhere, Nintendo canceled it altogether. We later learned that this title was codenamed Project Harmony.
