Nioh 2 Story Trailer and Post-Launch DLC Detailed

Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have shared a trailer for Nioh 2 also offering a glimpse at some of the post-launch DLC that they have planned for the game.

Nioh 2 is an upcoming action RPG that was an attempt from Team Ninja to tackle the Souls-like genre with another hardcore action RPG. The first game was a success which led to the announcement of the sequel, and now the sequel is due out on March 13, 2020.

Koei Tecmo has now shared a story trailer for Nioh 2 which also has a brief overview of the overarching plot featured in the game.

Unleash your darkness! Master the lethal art of the samurai in this brutal masocore action role-playing game… for death is coming. Journey to 1555 feudal Japan, a country gripped in the misery and madness of endless warfare. A place where monsters and evil spirits infest a land of natural beauty and menacing peril, where everyone from the smallest child to the bravest warrior lives in constant fear of the spiritual beings known as yokai Play as a mute rogue living as a hired mercenary and renowned yokai hunter. Born to and abandoned by human and yokai parents, you are burdened with the ability to take on supernatural yokai form. Can you survive the treacherous Sengoku era and terrifying Dark Realm?

Nioh 2 will also offer a season pass which will include 3 major DLCs. These DLCs will “each focus on a different storyline that pre-dates the events of Nioh 2, promising hours of additional gameplay that will provide plenty of challenge for those thirsting for more.” There will be “new weapons, new combat abilities and new characters” offering multiple main and sub-missions.

Koei Tecmo has also held a couple of early tests for the game with an Alpha test that was available to PlayStation 4 users. The game is currently confirmed for the PS4 however if the first game is any indication, it might arrive on PC at a later date.
