Obsidian’s Grounded Looks Incredible In First Gameplay Footage
Grounded is an upcoming first-person survival adventure from Obsidian Entertainment. The first gameplay footage for Grounded has debuted at PAX East.
Grounded was first revealed by Microsoft during X019 Fan Fest in London. It is one of the three projects that Obsidian Entertainment is currently working on, the other two being a sequel to The Outer Worlds, and a brand new AAA RPG.
Grounded is a different experience from what Obsidian Entertainment has usually worked on in the past. It is a multiplayer-centric game with a focus on exploring the world and surviving in it.
The first gameplay footage for Grounded was debuted at PAX East during a PAX East panel by the developers. It has been recorded and uploaded on YouTube. You can get a glimpse at the game from the footage shown here.
From the footage, the game looks interesting and fun to play based solely on its premise. It offers a unique exploration by shrinking down humans to the size of insects. The art style evokes the feeling of an animated film that suits this gameplay style.
Here is an overview of the game from the official Microsoft Xbox Store.
The world is a vast, beautiful, and dangerous place – especially when you have been shrunken to the size of an ant. Explore, build, and survive together in this first person, multiplayer, survival-adventure. Can you thrive alongside the hordes of giant insects, fighting to survive the perils of the backyard?
Grounded is currently scheduled for a release on the Xbox Game Pass for PC and Xbox One in Spring 2020.
