The first ever gameplay footage for Sega and Atlus’ rumored Persona 3 remake has allegedly been leaked ahead of an official reveal.
The alleged gameplay footage from the rumored Persona 3 remake shows the game’s turn-based combat in action. It was allegedly taken from an internal meeting held at Sega Japan in 2021. The Japanese character at the top-right of the video reads “footage in development”.

The character in focus in the leaked video is none other than Yukari Takeba, a playable character from the original Persona 3. She is a student at Gekkoukan High School as well as a member of the Specialized Execution Squad. It’s worth highlighting that the Yukari character model seen in the above video hasn’t been lifted from some online source, and the visual effects look rather elaborate for this to not be the real deal. That said, it’s still a rumor until confirmed by Atlus.
Previously, a member of gaming enthusiast forum, Reset Era, had shared some details regarding the development of the rumored Persona 3 remake. According to him, Atlus may be planning to release the Persona 3 remake or another unannounced game prior to Persona 6. According to him, both the Persona 3 remake and Persona 6 are quite further along in development.
Last he had heard, a reveal was planned for both RPGs sometime this summer. He added that, with three games in development, he was particularly shocked to see that Atlus kept canceling and changing the reveal schedule with planned events and the press. He further added that the Persona 3 remake was supposed to have already been shown to the press/public. However, the powers that be at Atlus changed their mind, and the reveal didn’t happen according to prior plans.
Earlier, another Reset Era member, who had leaked the arrival of Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal on Xbox Game Pass last year as well as the release of Taiko no Tatsujin on Xbox months before an official announcement, stated that the Persona 3 remake will be similar to Persona 5, both in terms of visuals and aesthetics as well as Quality of Life additions. The leaked video appears to corroborate what they had said.
