S-Game has announced that Phantom Blade Zero has been delayed, with the action RPG now scheduled to launch on October 29, 2026.

The game was previously set for release on September 9, 2026. The announcement was made shortly after the latest State of Play presentation, where the studio also confirmed that pre-orders for the game will begin this summer.

In a message to players, S-Game CEO and Phantom Blade Zero creator Soulframe apologized for the delay and explained that the development team wanted additional time to further improve the game before release.

“Phantom Blade Zero will now launch on October 29, 2026, moved from its previous date of September 9, 2026,” Soulframe said. “This was not an easy decision. More than anyone, we understand the expectations our players have placed on us. And precisely because of those expectations, we do not want to release Phantom Blade Zero knowing there is still an opportunity to take it one step further.”

According to the developer, the extra development time will be used to enhance several aspects of the game, including character models and environments. Soulframe revealed that the team has upgraded numerous character assets and reworked many locations throughout the game while also focusing on preserving visual quality for players who may not use ray tracing.

“We have upgraded a number of character models and reworked many environments across the game, pushing them toward the highest standard we can currently achieve,” he explained.

The studio believes the additional 50 days will allow it to complete several important improvements that directly impact the player’s first experience with the game. While some of these enhancements could have been delivered through post-launch updates, the developer said it wanted the launch version to be as polished as possible.

“A 50-day delay cannot solve everything. But it does give us enough time to complete a number of clearly defined and genuinely important improvements,” Soulframe said.

Alongside the delay announcement, S-Game outlined its marketing plans for the coming months. A new trailer featuring entirely new gameplay footage will be released when pre-orders go live this summer. Following that, the studio plans to host a dedicated State of Play presentation focused exclusively on Phantom Blade Zero.

According to the developer, the showcase will run between 15 and 20 minutes and will provide a detailed look at the game’s world, combat, exploration, and progression systems. The presentation is expected to feature mostly previously unseen content.

Originally revealed in 2023, Phantom Blade Zero has become one of the most anticipated action games in development, with S-Game regularly showcasing new combat mechanics and gameplay demonstrations over the past several years. The newly announced release date gives the studio additional time to finalize the experience ahead of its October launch.
