The next PlayStation State of Play presentation is expected to happen very soon, as Hideo Kojima has begun editing a new Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trailer.
Death Stranding 2 game director Hideo Kojima took to Twitter/X to share that he has started editing a new trailer. He said that it’s been a year since he last edited a trailer, and that he had been “air-editing” in his head while listening to potential tracks to use. However, now that he has finally loaded everything into the editing system, it isn’t quite coming together in the way he had thought.
Kojima also shared a picture of a bottle labeled with “BB Royal 2”. Given that these initials hold significance in Death Stranding, standing for Bridge Baby, the trailer he is editing is undoubtedly for its sequel. It’s likely that the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trailer will likely be showcased at an upcoming PlayStation State of Play presentation, which is already rumored to be happening sometime during the second week this month.
Content creators Nate the Hate and tvPH (also known as Brazil on forums) have both claimed that Sony Interactive Entertainment will be holding a State of Play presentation on Valeintine’s day i.e. February 14, 2025. Given how both individuals have proven to be reliable in the past, we’re inclined to believe that the presentation will indeed happen next Friday.
As for what games will be featured on the upcoming State of Play presentation, Sony Interactive Entertainment may have new updates to share on a bunch of PlayStation first-party titles, including the likes of Marvel’s Wolverine, Ghost of Yotei, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Marathon. It may also feature games being developed in partnership with third-party studios, such as Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. There may also be brand new announcements from some first-party studios like Housemarque.
