Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games’ latest action-adventure game, Marvel’s Wolverine, is the second highest user rated game of 2026 on PlayStation.
According to data from ps-store-db.live, which tracks PlayStation Store sales, charts, ratings, and other statistics, Marvel’s Wolverine has earned an average user score of 4.83 (out of a total of 5) so far from over 24,800 reviews, making it the second highest rated 2026 game on the platform. Only Capcom’s recent survival horror game, Resident Evil Requiem, ranks higher, with a 4.88 rating from more than 101,100 reviews.
Marvel’s Wolverine’s reception from gaming outlets has been considerably less enthusiastic. Review scores have been mixed, with critics generally praising the game’s story, character work, and Logan actor Liam McIntyre’s performance as Logan, while criticizing aspects of its combat, level design, and gameplay variety. The game currently has a Metacritic average score of 77 based on 124 reviews, which is below developer Insomniac Games’ previous Marvel games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man at 87, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales at 85, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at 90.
On the PlayStation Store, however, players appear to be responding much more positively. The store page for Marvel’s Wolverine shows a strong 4.83/5 average from more than 24,800 users. It’s worth highlighting that all ratings are given by those who own a copy of the game.
The ps-store-db data also shows Marvel’s Wolverine performing strongly across many PlayStation Store regions. The game is ranked among the leading sellers in multiple markets, including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, France, Canada, and Australia.
Ultimately, the numbers highlight a clear gap between the reception from critics and players. Concerns were also raised on social media about Marvel’s Wolverine’s QTEs, some of which don’t appear to have a fail state associated with them, but this doesn’t seem to have had a an effect on players’ enjoyment of the game either.
Marvel’s Wolverine was released on September 15, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
