A possible early look at Link and the Master Sword from the upcoming live-action Legend of Zelda film has surfaced online. The image was reportedly shared by cinematographer Gyula Pados on Instagram before being removed shortly after gaining traction.
The post reportedly contained a clapperboard alongside what seems to be an unseen image of Link holding a redesigned version of the Master Sword. Although the design has not been confirmed to be part of the film, the involvement of the cinematographer and their previous collaborations with director Wes Ball have led some to consider this leak credible, or at least plausible.
The design depicted in the image resembles more of a concept art piece than a finalized prop. Its removal from Instagram after gaining significant attention has further fueled speculation about its authenticity. It’s also entirely possible that this is unrelated concept art that was not meant for the film.
The Legend of Zelda film recently reached a key stage in production, with filming wrapping in New Zealand in mid-April 2026. Directed by Wes Ball and produced by Shigeru Miyamoto alongside Avi Arad, the project represents a collaboration between Nintendo and Sony Pictures.
The film is now in post-production and is scheduled for a global theatrical release on May 7, 2027.
