Dead Island 2 is an action role-playing game that was released on 21 April 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It is set around 15 years after the events of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, taking place in a quarantined, zombie-filled Los Angeles. Like its predecessor, Dead Island 2 is played from a first-person perspective. Players choose one of six playable characters, known as slayers, each with unique skills and abilities. The game world is divided into 10 distinct zones that can each be explored freely. However, traveling across zones requires using Zone Exits. As the game progresses, fast travel points become available, enabling quicker access to locations.
