PSVR2 App Will Be Available On Steam In August 2024, Hardware Requirements Revealed

A PC app for Sony Interactive Entertainment’s virtual reality headset, PSVR2, will be available on Steam in August, 2024.

According to the Steam store page for the PSVR2 app, it will arrive on Valve’s digital storefront on August 6, 2024. Those in possession of PlayStation’s latest VR headset and a compatible PC will be able to enjoy VR games and apps on Steam. Users will be required to install the PSVR2 app to use the headset on PC, set up their PSVR2 devices, and keep the firmware for the headset and PSVR2 Sense controllers up to date.

As per the description on the Steam store page, the PSVR2 app will allow users to set up their PSVR2 on their PC, update the firmware for their PSVR2 headset and PSVR2 Sense controllers, adjust settings for their PSVR2 from the SteamVR dashboard, including setting their play area and screen brightness.

PSVR2 owners will need the following in order to to get started with the PSVR2 app.

  • PlayStation VR2 VR headset
  • PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers (Connect via Bluetooth)
  • PlayStation VR2 PC adapter

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 7600 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (1)
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics:
    • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or later (2)
    • NVIDIA RTX Series
    • AMD Radeon RX 5500XT or later
    • Radeon RX 6500XT or later
  • Storage: 700 MB available space
  • Additional Notes:
    • (1) Zen 2 or later architecture is required
    • (2) Turing or later architecture is required

    • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or later
