Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 Remakes Reportedly Still Planned for Nintendo Switch 2

The Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 remakes are reportedly still headed to Nintendo Switch 2, according to industry insider NateTheHate.

Speculation surrounding the titles intensified ahead of the latest Nintendo Direct, with many fans expecting Capcom to officially reveal the games during the presentation. That announcement ultimately did not happen, but NateTheHate has since reiterated that all three remakes remain planned for Nintendo’s newest platform.

According to the insider’s latest information, the games are currently targeting release sometime in 2026. No specific launch windows or release dates were mentioned, and Capcom has yet to publicly confirm any of the rumored ports.

The trio represents some of Capcom’s most successful modern Resident Evil releases. Resident Evil 2, released in 2019, follows Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they attempt to survive a zombie outbreak in Raccoon City. Resident Evil 3, which launched in 2020, centers on Jill Valentine as she escapes the city while being pursued by the bioweapon Nemesis.

Resident Evil 4, released in 2023, follows Leon several years after the events of Raccoon City as he travels to a remote European village to rescue the U.S. President’s kidnapped daughter from a dangerous cult.

Nintendo Switch owners previously received cloud versions of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, while Resident Evil 4 Remake has never been released on the platform. If the rumor proves accurate, Nintendo Switch 2 players could see native versions of all three remakes arrive later this year.

As with all unannounced projects, the information should be treated as speculation until Capcom provides official confirmation.
