Resident Evil Village will get a new gameplay demo and the official update for the demo has been uploaded to the PlayStation servers hinting at a release soon.
Earlier in March, Capcom held a live stream with PlayStation Japan to discuss the game and we received the confirmation of a gameplay demo that will be released later in Spring 2021. The file for this demo is apparently up on the PlayStation servers because an update has been uploaded that appears to patch it to version 1.01.
The update can be seen from OrbisPatches and so far it appears to be a PS4 demo, but this should also release on other platforms. The first demo was exclusive to the PS5 so this will be the first time the game will get a gameplay demo on other consoles includes PS4 and Xbox One.
Resident Evil Village is the 8th mainline entry in the series that was originally set to release exclusively on the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The game was later confirmed to release for the PS4 and Xbox One as well. The first demo was mostly focused on exploration and featured a brand new character that was in control of the player. The demo has been out for a while now and you can watch a complete playthrough of it from here.
Resident Evil Village will be out on May 7, 2021, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
